Year at a Glance

I started creating my personal scope and sequence through backwards planning and strategically weaving in my district's scope and sequence.  A tough job. Many of the activities that I used to teach had to be moved or removed all together. But at last, I did it...I think! Here's a snap shot into how it looks at the moment...I'm sure there will be changes, but it's start.  I used the Next Generation Science Standards for 2nd Grade and Common Core Curriculum for Math, Reading, and Writing. I looked for Virtual field trips that supported the units and holiday s to remind myself what might support social studies and science units. I put on an Invention Convention at our school which I will include on another post. At the end of the year, the students participate in a Classroom Poetry Cafe, ehich they absolutely love!! I will also share my resources at a later post. I include seperate boards on my pinterest account to support geometry, multiplication, and countries around the world. You can find them on my pinterest site: https://www.pinterest.com/carolynnyates/
